“Call it the giving time of the year; BALE (Building A Local Economy) wants taldrich-huicholo offer something in return,” says its Director Chris Wood. “We do need to raise money like every other group seeking support, but this year we’re putting a little ‘fun’ into fundraising, where donors can get something in return… It’s called an online auction that can be found HERE.

The auction runs for a month and ends at 9 p.m. on Sunday, December 20. Over 75 items are current listed and, according to Wood, the list is growing almost daily. From an archival giclee print of an original watercolor of Bernie Sanders by local artist Katie Runde (just a $35 bid) to a 10-day stay at a jungle-and-beach home in Costa Rica ($1200), this auction lists many amazing, diverse items.

rajatHow about a concert with Bow Thayer for you and your friends? Or a case of amazing apple wine from Fable Farm Fermentory? A pint of “2 Die 4” dark chocolate ice cream from Kiss the Cow Farm or tickets to Northern Stage? Dozens more fascinating items can be found and it’s all to benefit the important work of BALE.

“We are very grateful in this season of gratitude for the many generous businesses and individuals who have offered us extraordinary donations that turn ‘plain old’ fundraising into a fun and creative adventure,” says Wood.
