Month: December 2016
Picasso has nothing on this artist. Jose Benitez Sanchez is a Huichol native shaman from a remote area of central Mexico and is world-renowned for his yarn paintings. This fabulous work, made in 1982, is a relatively small (1′ X 1′), while much of his work is large format 4′ X 8′. This is a steal at $625 (it needs a $325 minimum bid). Yes… it’s as vibrant as it looks here.
Want one auction item that is almost guaranteed to pay you back several times over? Try bidding on the Catamount Trail Association membership at a going price of $35. For that you get a bandana, trail maps and a very cool coupon book that has discounts good all over Vermont — mostly on ski and outdoor activity — totaling $1200 in deals. C’mon now… you can miss.
There lots more where these come from. Just click HERE.
The Online Auction is LIVE HERE. It is a key fundraiser for BALE (Building A Local Economy). The auction ends December 19 and has a fund goal of raising $5000. Yikes!
The good news is that we’re over half-way there… and there’s still 33 items with NO bids. Everything from a $50 gift certificate to Tatunka Tattoo… to a pint of Blueberry Lavender Ice Cream from Kiss the Cow Farm… to $90 worth of work on your car at Stockwell’s Garage. There’s a medium duty wood splitter, 35 bucks to spend at Bent Hill Brewery or $500 to spend at Anichini’s Quechee Outlet Store. Add to that some very affordable (and colorful) crate art from those old wooden boxes that, once upon a time, brought you your fruit and vegetables.
There are super deals that will take you away of your normal winter zone: Think a Costa Rica home for 10 days (for six), next September for a week on the coast of Maine (for up to eleven), Montague Golf Course next summer (for three others), your own Integrative Wellness Workshop (for up to eight), or a Yoga mini-workshop (for up to 12).
Whew! Nothing dull about this fundraiser. And a BIG thank you to everyone who has given items to make this a blast.
